November 21, 2025, Richmond, CA — Today, the Re-Elect Doria Robinson for District 3 City Council Campaign is officially live. Robinson, a lifelong community-builder and respected leader, announced her bid for re-election with a focus on continuing the work she has begun to make Richmond safer, more just, more sustainable, and more unified, without losing sight of the city’s history, culture, and long-standing neighborhoods.

Doria Robinson is a 3rd generation Richmond resident, community organizer, environmental justice advocate, and current City Councilmember for District 3. Her work spans decades of leadership in sustainable development, youth programming, anti-poverty initiatives, and community empowerment. As a councilmember, she is known for integrity, collaboration, and a fierce commitment to the people of Richmond.

“Richmond is a community with deep roots and powerful legacies,” Robinson said. “In just three years, we have worked across traditional fault lines on the hardest problems our city faces. And we’ve made real progress on the priorities of the people of District 3. But I’m not satisfied; there’s much more to do.”

She continued: “I’m running because our work isn’t finished. We are going to continue to build on the legacy of those who have worked tirelessly to make this community safer, stronger, more resilient, and more unified. And we are going to go further – together – honoring our elders, teaching and mentoring our young ones, and treating each other with respect in the process.

In Richmond, we don’t leave anyone behind.

Key campaign themes will include:

1) delivering on promises, including securing funds for the MLK Jr. Community Center and advancing vital housing initiatives;

2) honoring Black Richmond through the Black Resiliency Project;

3) standing with and supporting immigrant communities in the face of federal attacks;

4) building an economy beyond fossil fuel industry dependency;

5) confronting the housing and homelessness crisis head-on; and,

6) focusing on supporting real safety measures
