Delivering on Promises
A Record of Measurable Progression
During her first term, Robinson delivered on key commitments while bringing a steady, community-centered approach to governance.
– Secured significant budget expansion for the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center,
– Advanced major housing in Nystrom Village, 12th & MacDonald and major resiliency efforts like working to resolve the flooding at Parchester Village,
– Promoted transparency, accountability, and community participation across city processes, emphasizing shared problem-solving over political division.
The Housing Crisis
Confronting the Crisis with Heart & Honesty
Robinson acknowledges that while progress has been made, the scale of the housing crisis requires deeper and more coordinated action.
Achievements include:
New units coming online through Metro Walk, Nystrom Village, and Project Homekey.
Recent set-asides for unhoused residents.
She also highlights what is not working — including delays in the Tiny Home Village — and calls for urgent next steps:
A fully funded Navigation Center in Richmond.
A dedicated CORE team focused exclusively on Richmond residents.
Smarter use of the 1,500 beds available countywide every night.
“We need a system that treats every person with dignity,” Robinson said. “Housing first. Services that work. Real accountability.”
Building Community
Standing with Immigrant Families:
‘We Win Together or Not at All!’
As national politicians attack immigrant communities, Robinson has stood firm for unity and dignity.
Her guiding principle on immigration justice is simple: “We will not throw our neighbors under the bus.”
She emphasizes that true progress requires solidarity across race, class, and neighborhood lines — and that Richmond’s strength comes from its diversity.
Honoring & Uplifting Black Richmond
Robinson has championed policies that honor the history, contributions, and resilience of Black communities in Richmond. Her leadership on the Black Resiliency Project highlights a commitment not just to programs, but to cultural, economic, and political empowerment rooted in legacy and stewardship.
“Richmond’s Black communities built this city,” Robinson said. “Their survival and brilliance must guide our future.”
Supporting Community
Solutions Rooted In Care, Not Criminalization
Robinson has championed alternative crisis-response programs that save lives and reduce unnecessary police interventions. Key initiatives include:
– ROCK (Response to Crisis with Kindness) — a team that responds to mental health and poverty-related crises with care, not force.
– Strengthening the Community Police Review Commission to ensure transparency and trust.
– Supporting police by freeing them to focus on crime, while community-based teams address behavioral health and social service needs.
“Safety means everyone gets home at the end of the day,” Robinson said. “It means compassion, accountability, and real solutions.”
Beyond Fossil Fuels
Confronting the Crisis with Heart & Honesty
Robinson has consistently pushed for an economic future that reduces dependence on fossil fuels without sacrificing jobs, stability, or dignity. Her vision includes:
– Leading the MacDonald Avenue Task Force to bring life, vibrancy, and business back to the city’s historic corridor.
– Supporting the creation of a Green Empowerment Zone in Richmond to attract clean industries and good-paying jobs.
– Advocating for a revitalized, city-owned and managed Port of Richmond that can serve as an economic engine for generations.
– Welcoming the “industries of the future” — technology, clean manufacturing, climate innovation — without giving more power to Chevron or letting outside interests dictate Richmond’s economic destiny.
“Our economy must serve our people, not the other way around,” Robinson said.
